Design:

SHOCK HARDENED THQS series provides high shock impact resistance with very high energy density. Impact and projectile testing at EGLIN AFB proves high shock & weapon capability. Hybrid capacitors combine a tantalum anode with a electrochemical super capacitor cathode to supply very high energy densities (US Patent #5,369,547). This design provides for overall energy densities of up to 2 joules/cc and .5 joules/g. Hybrid capacitors are much smaller and lighter than aluminum electrolytic or tantalum wet slug capacitors.

Construction & Specifications:

Hermetic tantalum Hybrid capacitors are assembled in a welded tantalum case with a matched glass to metal seal for the anode feed through. THQS Hybrid capacitors are encased with shock absorbing materials allowing very high impact shock resistance.
